Photo Gallery: L&P Golf Tournament for United Way

On August 25, Leggett & Platt hosted the 7th annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Carthage Area United Way. A little bit of rain didn’t even dampen our spirits – a total of 44 teams competed throughout the day in the golf scramble, poker tournament, and hole-in-one and putting contests. Altogether we raised approximately $18,000! We couldn’t have made the day successful without the players, corporate sponsors, and our 50 volunteers. On August 27, Leggett & Platt hosted the 5th annual Golf Scramble to benefit the Carthage Area United Way. A total of 48 teams – our biggest turnout yet – competed throughout the day in the golf scramble, poker tournament, and hole-in-one and putting contests. Altogether we raised $13,000! We couldn’t have made the day successful without the players, corporate sponsors, and our 50 volunteers. Here are some of our favorite photos from the day!

Leggett & Platt Helps Raise Awareness for Autism

Autism Speaks On January 18, Leggett & Platt co-sponsored the Ante4Autism charity poker tournament in Las Vegas. However, there’s more to this event than corporate sponsorship.

For Karl Glassman, our President & Chief Operating Officer, it’s a deeply personal matter. “Autism affects so many families,” he said. “I’m humbled by how many of our people have gotten involved.” Glassman’s wife Cathi has worked with autistic students for many years as a case manager for the Joplin, Missouri school district. But, he was quick to point out the reason Ante4Autism has been successful. “This event continues to build awareness really because of one man,” he explained.

Leggett & Platt Executives Take a Pie in the Face for a Good Cause

Leggett & Platt has partnered with United Way for several years — but we don’t just raise funds for a good cause, we have fun while we do it! In 2014 we hosted a community-wide fall festival, held bake sales and raffles, even a dodgeball tournament. However, the highlight this year was when our leadership decided to get in on it; employees participated in an auction for the chance to throw a pie in the face of their favorite executive.
