L&P Automotive India Celebrates the New Year

Our Automotive team in India welcomed the new year with a cake-cutting celebration. During the event, the team took time to appreciate everyone’s hard work and raise a toast to new beginnings. They’re excited to start fresh, go forward with positive attitudes, and focus on collaboration.

We invited a couple of team members to share their reflections:

Saravanan

Saravanan, Quality Department, shared, “I’ve been with L&P for 14 years, and I’ve become a better version of myself with my peers’ and managers’ support and guidance. I am happy and proud to be a part of Leggett & Platt.”

Ramkumar

Ramkumar, Manufacturing Engineering Department, shared, “I’ve had opportunities to learn and develop myself during the past eight and a half years with L&P. Even though there have been challenges, my time here has been fabulous—L&P is a great place to work.”

Thank you to our Automotive team in India for putting people first and doing great work together!

Happy New Year!

Happy Diwali: Festival of Lights

On Sunday, November 12, people worldwide will celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights.

Diwali originated in ancient India as a celebration of the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after defeating the demon King Ravana. The holiday has different meanings and traditions for each religion and region of India and is celebrated by people in many other parts of the world, including Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.

Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Universally, it brings joy and happiness to millions, and festivals include colorful lights, music, dancing, and fireworks. Happy Diwali to all those who celebrate!

Remembrance Day

November 11 is Remembrance Day. We are thinking of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure the freedoms of many of our colleagues.

Happy Veterans Day!

Today, we honor all the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We thank you for your service!

¡Celebremos la Independencia de México!

September 16 is Mexico’s Independence Day!

On September 16, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Catholic priest, rang the church bell in Dolores, Mexico, and gave a passionate speech that called for independence from Spain. This event became known as the Grito de Dolores (Cry of Dolores)—the start of Mexico’s 11-year war for independence.

Each year on the night of September 15, it is tradition for Mexico’s president to kick off Independence Day celebrations by ringing the same bell Hidalgo did in 1810 and giving a speech from the National Palace in Mexico City. Independence Day is also celebrated with food, fireworks, parades, and music.

¡A todos los que están celebrando, L&P les desea unas felices fiestas!

To all who are celebrating, L&P wishes you a happy holiday!
