End-of-Year Reflections: Jagan Viswanathan

As we wrap up this year, we invited colleagues around the world to reflect on and share their achievements, challenges, and goals.

Jagan Viswanathan, Supply Chain Specialist

One key lesson I learned this year is that trust and leadership empowerment drive ownership and innovation. When leaders provide clarity and autonomy, it encourages accountability and creative problem-solving, ultimately leading to better results.

Professional Growth

I have had the opportunity to play a dual role in Operations and Supply Chain. This experience has broadened my perspective, allowing me to diversify my thinking and better align supply chain strategies with process excellence. It has strengthened my ability to integrate operational insights into strategic planning, ensuring efficiency and resilience across the value chain.

Leadership & Collaboration: This year, I’ve taken on more cross-functional projects, which has strengthened my ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different countries and cultures. I’ve learned to adapt to diverse behaviors and communication styles, which has improved my interpersonal skills. Additionally, I’ve gained the confidence to manage tasks successfully from anywhere, ensuring productivity regardless of location.

Project Management Skills: I have significantly improved my project management skills this year. I’ve learned to handle projects end-to-end, including drafting detailed plans, executing them effectively, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and preparing for potential headwinds. This structured approach has strengthened my ability to deliver results under challenging conditions.

Exposure to Top Management: I have gained valuable exposure to top management this year, which has helped me understand strategic priorities and decision-making at a higher level. This experience has improved my ability to align operational tasks with organizational goals and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Decision-Making Ability: I have strengthened my decision-making skills by handling complex situations, evaluating multiple options, and choosing the most effective solutions under pressure. This has helped me make informed choices that align with organizational goals and minimize risks.

Personal Growth

One of the key aspects I value this year is the trust and clarity the organization provides. We are given clear objectives and the freedom to work towards them, which empowers us to take ownership and deliver results. This supportive environment has also enabled me to maintain mental peace and achieve a healthy work-life balance, allowing me to stay productive and focused.

Adaptability: I have learned to adapt quickly to changing priorities and stay calm under pressure, becoming a more self-driven and resilient person.

Communication: I have worked on improving my communication skills, especially during calls. I’ve learned to speak slowly and clearly, ask questions to ensure understanding, and prepare thoroughly for meetings.

Learning: I have undergone Foundational Leadership training, which has helped me refresh on topics such as giving feedback, the importance of meeting with team members one-on-one, and conflict management.

End-of-Year Reflections: Clint Blissard

As we wrap up this year, we invited colleagues around the world to reflect on and share their achievements, challenges, and goals.

Clint Blissard, HR/Safety Manager

I have learned the value of honesty and teamwork and see how beneficial these traits are to a team in a production environment. Sometimes it takes persistence and can be uncomfortable, but working together benefits our team and our company.

Personal and Professional Growth

I learn something new every day. In a fast-paced environment, it is easy to get bogged down by everything coming at you at once. This applies to any role. I have learned that an open and honest work culture makes everyone’s work life more enjoyable and increases productivity.

Sterling Steel Hosts Crane Rescue Training with Local Fire Departments

Recently, Sterling Steel Company, in Sterling, Illinois, hosted a large-scale crane rescue exercise with the Sterling, Rock Falls, and Dixon Fire Departments participating. Twenty-eight firefighters were involved, most from each department’s Tactical Rescue Unit. The exercise involved using a 102-foot ladder truck, climbing gear, and rigging to accomplish the rescue.

A rescue “dummy” was placed in the crane operator’s cab to start the exercise. The crews would first have to reach the crane cab 60 feet above, provide a medical assessment, then move the “victim” out of the crane cab on a stretcher through very narrow, steep stairwells, and lower the victim to the ground. This was a great opportunity for the fire department Tactical Response Units to practice their skills.

“Our 500 Ton West Ladle Crane was an ideal platform for the exercise, with the running rails 72’ above the shop floor,” said Mike Strum, Health & Safety Manager. “The drills were completed safely and successfully, and fire department leaders praised the training opportunity. They were so enthusiastic that they immediately asked when we could begin planning the next exercise.”

End-of-Year Reflections: Naomi Lopez

As we wrap up this year, we invited colleagues around the world to reflect on and share their achievements, challenges, and goals.

Naomi Lopez, Bilingual Employment Coordinator

Personal and Professional Growth

Over the past year, I’ve grown significantly in my role as a Bilingual Employment Coordinator.

Personally, I’ve become more flexible and patient. Recruitment can be fast-paced and unpredictable, and this year taught me how to stay organized under pressure while maintaining a positive candidate experience. I’ve also gained confidence in my communication and decision-making skills. Overall, I’ve become a more well-rounded, people-focused recruiter, and I’m excited to keep building on that growth.

Happy Thanksgiving!

To all celebrating, we wish you a very happy and meaningful holiday!

Leggett & Platt Croatia Celebrates 25 Years of Dedication and Team Spirit

This post was written by Ljiljana Trstenjak, a Project Manager at Leggett & Platt Technologies (LPT) – Croatia. As someone who has lived this journey alongside her colleagues, she offers a firsthand perspective on what 25 years of dedication, teamwork, and craftsmanship truly means to the people who make LPT Croatia the success it is today. Thank you, Ljiljana, for sharing this milestone, and thank you to the team at LPT – Croatia for 25 years!

This year marks a major milestone for Leggett & Platt Technologies – Croatia: 25 years of innovation, growth, and success. From humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in our industry, our journey has been driven by passion, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Over the past quarter-century, we’ve built more than a business – we’ve built lasting relationships, earned trust, and created a legacy of quality.

Our success stems from the dedication of our people, the trust of our clients, and the partnerships that push us to keep raising the bar. As we celebrate this milestone, we look back with pride and forward with purpose – ready to embrace new challenges, explore fresh opportunities, and continue the story that began in 2000. For 25 years, we’ve been bending steel so others can rest easy – quite literally. From the first coil we shaped to the millions that followed, we’ve learned that true strength lies in flexibility and that perfection, like comfort, is never accidental. Our springs have supported dreams, homes, and generations. Yet what drives us isn’t the metal, it’s the minds and hands behind it. We celebrate not just the years, but the countless hours, ideas, and efforts that define who we are. From a single production line to partners around the globe, our journey has always had the same heartbeat: people who care deeply about what they do.

We chose to celebrate this milestone with the people who made it possible – our employees. It was our way of saying thank you for their dedication, teamwork, and unwavering commitment over the years.

Above and below: May Celebration honoring tenured team members.

In May 2025, we honored colleagues celebrating 10, 15, 20, and 25 years with LPT – a tribute to the dedication and loyalty that shaped our journey. Each received recognition from Tyson Hagale, President of Bedding Products Segment, and Davor Gečić, Business Unit President. Remarkably, 59 of the 85 honorees have been with us since day one.

Then in September, the entire LPT team came together for a dynamic team-building day filled with activities, collaboration, and laughter. It was a chance to step away from routines, strengthen bonds, and celebrate not just our history, but the people who make it possible every day.croatia3

These celebrations are more than milestones – they reflect our belief that true success comes from working together. As LPT Croatia marks its first 25 years, we look ahead with confidence – ready to innovate, embrace new challenges, and continue contributing to our global success story.

Sharing Culture and Connection at Aurora

Our team at Leggett & Platt Flooring Products – Aurora in Aurora, Illinois, prioritizes coming together to spend time and make connections.

They recently held a luncheon in celebration of Mexican Independence Day. Team members contributed different dishes and gathered in the break room.

“It’s one of the few times we can all step away from work, be together, and be us,” said Ruby Bahena, Routing Coordinator. “We create moments of connection when we set up lunch ideas or plan birthday celebrations.”

Putting people first isn’t just a value the team talks about. It’s something they live out every day.

“Putting people first means prioritizing the needs of others. This could be as simple as allowing a team member to take an early lunch during your scheduled time or stepping in to cover for a colleague,” said Ruby. “It also extends to our customers – putting them first by actively working to meet their needs and exceed their expectations.”

At Aurora, these small, everyday choices are creating a culture of care and connection that makes a lasting impact.

Grateful for All We’ve Accomplished Together

As we reflect on this year, we’re full of gratitude for our teams around the world.

Every day, we see our employees showing up for one another and raising their hands to pitch in where they’re needed the most – both at work and in their communities.

We’re so grateful for all we’ve accomplished together this year, and we look forward to what we’ll achieve in the coming year!
