More than 65 L&P volunteers helped host Carthage Area United Way’s annual Golf Scramble. From planning to hosting the event, our volunteers helped register teams, set up stations, collect donations, and much more.
Together, L&P raised nearly $16,000 for the Carthage Area United Way! Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event successful and continue to uphold our values of putting people first and doing great work together.
On October 6, L&P branches joined manufacturers across the United States to celebrate Manufacturing Day.
Manufacturing Day allows L&P to open its doors, showcase the potential of modern manufacturing, and foster interest in manufacturing careers. It’s also a chance to celebrate our employees and their dedication to delivering quality products to our customers.
To celebrate our Carthage Spring branch, Carthage, MO, hosted over 60 community members, high school students, and Leggett employees and their families, providing tours and a glimpse into the production of our bedsprings.
In India, the Automotive team celebrated with a special meal and a lucky draw contest for all employees.
In China, L&V Automotive celebrated with a luncheon, a presentation acknowledging their achievements, and even handed out accolades to individual employees.
We are thankful for our employees who stand by our products and inspire the next generation of modern manufacturers!
On October 28, L&P teams across the U.S. and Canada will walk together in the Susan G. Komen’s More Thank Pink Walk, raising funds for breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
Leading up to this event, we’ve been sharing stories from our team members on how breast cancer has affected their lives and those of their family members.
Meet Anna Carrasquillo, who works at ECS Conover in Conover, NC. We asked Anna about her experience with breast cancer and why L&P’s support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation is meaningful.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re inviting L&P employees to share about their everyday Leggett life and their heritage.
Angelica
We’d like you to meet Angelica Lemus! Angelica is an Inspector and has been at our Sponge Cushion branch for more than 23 years.
As an Inspector, Angelica determines if our carpet underlayment products are within quality limits by monitoring the appearance, thickness, and dimensions of the underlayment. She also records the thickness and weight measurements and submits samples for lab analysis.
“I enjoy my job very much. I like that I’m responsible for ensuring that our carpet underlayment is being produced at the highest level. I also enjoy working with my coworkers,” said Angelica.
“When it’s time to work, I arrive early each morning and sit in the breakroom. I like to take this time to mentally prepare for my day and ensure I have all my tools ready. After work, I go home and relax with my family. I enjoy cooking for them. I also like to spend time with my granddaughter, Genevieve.”
When sharing about her heritage, Angelica said, “To me, heritage is family, and I am proud of all of us.”
October 10 is World Mental Health Day—a time to check in on our mental health.
We know it’s important to ask others how’re they’re doing, but we often forget to ask ourselves or we wait until a major life event to assess how we’re doing. It’s important to routinely reflect on our mental wellbeing so we can address any issues, feel our best, and be better equipped to help others.
For World Mental Health Day, we want to reshare some of our favorite mental health check-in tips:
Schedule timeto reflect. Scheduling some personal time can help minimize distractions and create space for us to be fully present with ourselves.
Assess physical health. Physical health and mental health are interconnected, so ensuring that we’re eating a healthy diet, exercising, and getting quality sleep can promote good mental health.
Notice feelings and behaviors. Changes in mood or behavior that last two weeks or longer could indicate a mental health issue. If you want help deciding whether or not you should speak to a health care professional about your mental health, check out the National Institute of Mental Health’s (NIMH) one-page guide: My Mental Health: Do I Need Help? For information on starting a conversation with a health care professional, take a look at the NIMH’s Tips for Talking with a Health Care Provider About Your Mental Health.
Know your support system. Whether it’s a single person or multiple people, knowing who we can count on when we need support can make reaching out for help a little easier.
Ensure there’s a source of joy. Doing something that makes us happy, whether that’s a hobby, watching a favorite show, spending time with friends and family, or just relaxing, can help maintain good mental health or improve it.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month—a time to remind ourselves of the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure we’re taking steps to protect ourselves from cyber threats.
To recognize this important topic, we want to share some cybersecurity tips with you:
Stay informed. Keep an eye out for news about online scams and tricks.
Be careful who you trust. Don’t give out personal information unless you’re sure you know who you’re communicating with.
Keep your devices updated. Make sure your computer, phone, and other devices have the latest security updates.
Protect your phone. Treat your phone like your wallet — don’t leave it unattended — and lock it when it’s not in use.

Miguel
Meet Miguel Manriquez! Miguel is a Roll Packer and has been with L&P for five years.
“I am a proud Hispanic who works hard for his family. I enjoy working with my coworkers and upper management. L&P is like a second family to me,” said Miguel.
“At work, I do my daily exercises after clocking in. Then, I inspect the roll pack machine I will be working on throughout the night. Once everything is correct, I start rolling. When it’s time to go home, I clean my roll pack machine, organize the carts in my area if needed, and scan my production tags.”
Before and after work, Miguel prioritizes his family.
“I spend time with my family before work. After work, I take my kids to school and then rest.”
During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re inviting L&P employees to share about their everyday Leggett life and their heritage.
We’d like to introduce you to Maria Medina Alberto! Maria is currently an 0FC Operator and has been with L&P for 20 years.
Maria
“I pray before work. When I arrive at work, I communicate with the prior shift’s team to get an understanding of how the machines are doing and discuss anything I need to take care of. Throughout the day, I help where needed but mainly perform my role, which is feeding strands of foam into a machine. Before it’s time to leave, I work with my team to clean the area and leave it in good condition for the next shift.”
When asked what she enjoys most about work, Maria shared that she enjoyslearning new things every day. When she’s not at work, she loves to spend time with her granddaughter.
“My granddaughter is my strength and motivation. After work, I spend time with her, and I feel like a child playing with her at the park.”
When sharing about her heritage, Maria said, “I am so proud to be Hispanic, and I feel blessed to be living in this country, even if it is not my country of origin. I love my first language, Spanish, and I feel proud to speak it.”
