In our Hydraulic Cylinders business, we manufacture engineered hydraulic cylinders used in mobile and heavy construction equipment applications. Our products often operate in demanding environments where equipment dependability is vital to maintaining the safety of personnel and goods.

As we continue celebrating Manufacturing Month, we’re introducing you to the hardworking and dedicated people behind our products. Meet Kannan Palanisamy, Manager Application Engineering for our Hydraulic Cylinders business!

Kannan joined Leggett & Platt in December 2018. In his current role, he leads a team that supports New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, helping bring innovative hydraulic cylinder solutions from concept to production for customers around the world.

“I am most proud of leading a talented team that develops innovative hydraulic cylinder designs and solutions and successfully launches new products into production,” says Kannan. “I also enjoy collaborating with customers and teams across North America, India, the UK, and Europe to deliver solutions that create value for our customers.”

Outside of work, Kannan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and exploring new places. He also has a passion for learning about emerging technologies and continuously developing his leadership and engineering skills. He enjoys discovering new ideas and perspectives that help him grow both personally and professionally.
