Our Super Sagless Home Furniture branch located in Tupelo, MS, has been making substantial strides toward a safer environment. They have incorporated impactful tactics that keep their branch aware of potential safety threats.

Hannah McAdams, HR and Safety Manager at the branch, has begun conducting live safety demonstrations to promote safe work practices. Utilizing her new dummy, “Hap J. Hazard,” she demonstrates what not to do in the workplace. From getting caught on a paint line to being stuck in a 200-ton press, Hap is an eye-opening example of what can happen when safe practices are not followed.

The idea developed through Hannah’s research of safety psychology and the most effective ways to encourage improvement. “The same old trainings weren’t making a big enough impact,” Hannah shared. “Familiarity can dull a person’s awareness and make them reluctant. People are more likely to change when the delivery of the message is memorable.”
